Thad Mirt has been involved in design for close to 30 years. Starting out working for Breuners in college, he has a knack for combining quality and comfort with beauty and color in interior spaces big and small.

His wife, Christina, worked in hospital medicine for 25 years, but when the owner of Thad’s previous company retired they decided to set up their own shop together in Lafayette– the town they loved most. The store’s location will be familiar to long-term residents as the old Blockbuster, but not a shade of the stacks of movies remains in the renovated space that includes a design studio, displays of furnishings and a front section for accents and artwork.

The intimate feel of the showroom with its warm colors and inviting displays is balanced by an expansive array of product available and at your fingertips – custom furniture and lighting, rugs, color selections, upholstery, accents, and artwork. Indigo and Poppy discovers gems of interior design and collects them from other family-owned businesses and local artisans around the world.

Five local interior designers call Indigo and Poppy their home as they connect with the community to inspire design spaces. The name “Indigo and Poppy” conjures some of the West Coast design motifs sought after all over the country and available right here in our own backyard.
