Reasonable Books

Rudy and Betty Winnacker

3645 “C” Mt. Diablo Boulevard ~ (925) 385-3026

Rudy got his start in the printed word by delivering the Oakland Tribune as a kid. He later studied philosophy at Cal and worked as a research gofer for Lawrence Livermore Labs, spending a lot of time in libraries. Later, his long career in high tech digital publishing made him intimately familiar with the way the printed word was changing. It also prepared him for pursuing a dream to open a brick and mortar book store to recapture some of the beauty of the past.

Reasonable Books is a great place to browse and touch and feel and see the real thing, offering a surprisingly large array of subjects and genres for a small store. Local authors feature prominently as do the latest best sellers, classic novels, children’s literature and even a bit of Kant and Wittgenstein. There is a growing used book section and you are welcome to donate your used books to the store which may keep them or pass them onto the East Bay Literacy Project. Stop in to get a recommendation, buy a gift and have it wrapped tastefully, or just chat with Rudy. There is nothing better than a local book store.
