Pizza Antica

3600 Mt. Diablo Boulevard ~ (925) 299-0500

Four local Acalanes graduates grew up and grew frustrated that they couldn’t take their kids out for pizza and also get a nice glass of wine and a fresh salad. So, they decided to go into the restaurant business.

Pizza Antica is the anchor dining establishment in mid-town Lafayette. The neighborhood has grown up around it with fun and stylish establishments replacing the national chains and fast food restaurants of a bygone era. The exposed brick wall of this fun and welcoming restaurant is the back side of the renowned, beloved and now-closed “Freddie’s Pizzeria” – a nice homage (along with a tootsie pop to go) to Lafayette’s community roots. But your visit will also include the more modern delights such as a potato, truffle oil and caramelized onion Neapolitan-style pizza or an often-sold-out Brussel sprout salad.
